About Wikipsilocybin

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Our mission

Wikipsilocybin exists to reduce harm. Psilocybin use happens whether or not people approve of it. When people cannot find honest safety facts, they get hurt more often. This site gives clear, research-based answers in plain words. We cover risks, drug interactions, emergencies, and the law.

What we will never do

Harm reduction is not promotion. Teaching seatbelt use does not encourage car crashes.

Who this site is for

This site is for health educators, university wellness programs, worried parents and friends, trip sitters, and journalists. It is also for people who have already decided to use psilocybin and want to be safer. If you are looking for encouragement or sources, this is the wrong site.

Who writes and edits this site

The site's author and editor is Shane Hellmrich. Shane studied Health Promotion at Curtin University, where his coursework included Human Biology, Psychology, Epidemiology, and Public Relations, and he has over 20 years in the health industry. He is not a doctor and does not provide medical advice; his background is in health promotion and education. Every page is written and checked against our editorial policy.

How content is made

Every page follows our public editorial policy. In short: every medical claim needs a published source. Every page shows its last-updated date. Legal facts carry an "as of" date because laws change. See the policy for the full rules and our correction process.

Contact and corrections

Found an error? We want to know. A correction process and contact address are listed in the editorial policy.
